Being Engaged. Engaging the being.

Being Engaged

November 2021

I had just submitted my dissertation for my BHSc. (Hons) in Neuroscience. I started a Global Health and Science Communication Winter School, and started developing curiosity for how science is shared in society.

March 2022

I entered FameLab SA while waiting for HREC outcomes for my MSc. (Med) proposal. I came second, nationally. I was talking about the research before we even started, and that excited me!

2022 - 2024

I took on communications projects wherever I could. Blogs. YouTube videos. Content generation for the South African Society for Sleep and Health. Public engagement. Conference presentations.

2024

I submitted my MSc. (Med). I joined the Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship for Cohort 6. I took up the Sensing Sonics residency for artists to play with sound, twice, developing a sense and response practice using line-making. I began the practice of collecting natural materials and making blow-away art installations. I grieved. I returned to movement.

2025

I began consulting as an independent contractor in women's health, DeSci, science communication and diplomacy, neuroscience advisory roles, NPO spaces, sleep health...

February 2026

I decide to share my engagement practices by starting this initiative.
